If you cross the Lago Todos los Santos ("All Saints Lake") Lago Todos los Santos, Puerto Varas, Chile lengthwise, seen from this perspective backwards, you can get real close to the Argentine border.

Lago Todos los Santos is a 179km² big and averagely 191m deep lake, the maximum depth is 337m. Lago Lanqhuihue is located only 20km to the east. Three volcanoes, two of them no longer active (Puntiagudo Cerro Puntiagudo, Puerto Varas, Chile and Tronador Cerro Tronador, Puerto Varas, Chile ) as well as the active Osorno Osorno, Puerto Varas, Chile , surround the lake. Humans settled in this area since 12.000 years.

Der Lago Todos los Santos ist ein 179km² großer und durchschnittlich 191m tiefer See, seine tiefste Stelle ist 337m tief. Der Lago Llanquihue liegt nur ca. 20km östlich. Drei Vulkane, zwei von ihnen erloschen (Puntiagudo Cerro Puntiagudo, Puerto Varas, Chile und Tronador Cerro Tronador, Puerto Varas, Chile ), sowie der aktive Osorno Osorno, Puerto Varas, Chile , umgeben den See. Menschen siedeln seit mindesten 12.000 Jahren in dem Gebiet.
