The Arctic climate has a lock on the island. In summer the temperatures hardly rise above 10 degrees, in winter they are often below minus 30 degrees. Then the northern and eastern regions of the country are completely entrapped by pack ice, which sometimes only thaws in July.
Ein arktisches Klima hält die Insel fest im Griff. Im Sommer steigen die Temperaturen kaum über 10 Grad, im Winter liegen sie oftmals unter minus 30 Grad. Dann sind die nördlichen und östlichen Regionen des Landes auch vollkommen von Packeis eingeschlossen, das manchmal erst im Juli auftaut.
