According to legend a church was built right on the spot of the human sacrifices in the 12th century. Until the diocese was relocated to modern Uppsala it was the seat of the archbishop.
Der Legende nach wurde im 12. Jahrhundert eine Kirche genau am Ort der Menschenopfer errichtet. Bis zur Verlegung der Diezöse Diözese ins heutige Uppsala war sie Sitz des Erzbischofs.
