At the middle of the 19th century the wealthy of Stockholm recognized the charms of the skery archipelago and built small summer mansions on the islands just like in Vaxholm. Today the small village is a popular destination for excursions by ship from the capital.
Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts entdeckten wohlhabende Stockholmer den Charme der Schären und bauten sich auf den Inseln kleine Sommervillen wie in Vaxholm. Heute ist das kleine Dorf ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel, das man bevorzugt per Schiff von der Hauptstadt aus ansteuert.
