Also under the wings of Chronos, the Greek-Roman personification of time, the Romans worked on their unity. Since Julius Caesar's calendar reform, we divide the solar year in 12 months with 28, 30 or 31 days. Only the year numbering remained confused back then. It was handled differently everywhere, usually commencing with the foundation of the respective city.

Auch unter den Fittichen von Chronos, dem griechisch-römischen Gott der Zeit, leisteten die Römer Einheitsarbeit. Seit Julius Cäsars julianischer Kalenderreform teilen wir das Sonnenjahr in 12 Monate mit 28, 30 bzw. 31 Tagen. Nur die Jahreszählung blieb damals verworren. Sie wurde an jedem Ort anders gehandhabt, meist beginnend ab der jeweiligen Stadtgründung.
