El Sabinar is a centenary wild open juniper forest and a place where you can see the beauty and ability of nature to adapt to the elements. It is at the very west of the island where the juniper trees face a never-ending battle with the wind. Some of them look very much like a dancer arching her back and letting her hair fall to the ground.
The unmistakable shape of one of the trees made it one of the symbols of the island.

This 150 meter long black-red coloured sandy beach is situated at the very end of the north-western point of the island. The rocky cove is one of the most popular on the island. Because of the heavy swell the swimming there can be very dangerous. But still it is a place worth to visit. You can enjoy the beautiful panorama while sunbathing, but you have to watch the falling rocks anyway.
Interesting:#
El Hierro has the densest concentration of volcanoes of any of the Canary Islands, with more than 800.
Is was near the Playa del Verodal, in 1793, where the only one historic recorded volcanic eruption occurred. The eruption of the Volcan de Lomo Negro lasted a whole month.
