Parc de la Ciutadella#

East of the Gothic Quarter lies the Parc de la Ciutadella, created in the mid-19th century on the foundations of the former citadel. At that time, the Barcelonians eliminated with the greatest of pleasure this stigma of oppression and created an extensive public garden in the middle of the city.
Östlich des Gotischen Viertels erstreckt sich der Parc de la Ciutadella, entstanden Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts auf den Fundamenten der einstigen Zitadelle. Mit großer Lust beseitigten damals die Barceloneser das Schandmal der Unterdrückung und schufen eine weitläufige Grünanlage inmitten der Stadt.
