The symbol of 'Eye of Horus' is even older, deriving from the hawk-headed Horus, the ancient Egyptian god of heaven. Even the pharaohs decorated their boats with this pairs of eyes to protect themselves from all dangers of the sea, to repel demons, and to call for vigilance.
Noch älter ist das Symbol des Horusauges, abgeleitet vom falkenköpfigen Horus, dem altägyptischen Himmelsgott. Schon die Pharaonen schmückten ihre Boote mit dem Augenpaar, das vor den Gefahren der See schützen, Dämonen abwehren und zu Wachsamkeit aufrufen soll.
