The interior of the church shows consummate frescoes made 830 years ago by artists who arrived specifically from Constantinople. Genuine fresco technique requires a long-term education and a lot of artistic skill. The colours are applied to the still damp plaster - inch by inch, but quickly and at the same time properly, before the plaster is dried. In this manner, the colour pigments are permanently integrated into the plaster.
Das Innere des Gotteshauses zeigt Freskenmalerei in Vollendung, angefertigt vor 830 Jahren von Künstlern, die eigens aus Konstantinopel anreisten. Echte Freskotechnik verlangt eine langjährige Ausbildung und viel künstlerisches Geschick. Die Farben werden auf den noch feuchten Putz aufgetragen - Zentimeter für Zentimeter, schnell und zugleich fehlerfrei, noch bevor der Kalk getrocknet ist. Damit werden die Farbpigmente stabil in den Putz eingebunden.
