It is only a few kilometres from the small marina of Latsi to an inconspicuous rock grotto. Here, according to the legend, Akamas, the son of Theseus, surprised the love goddess Aphrodite while bathing. And it was all up with the two, but a mythological personification called 'smear' told her husband, Hephaestus, the escapade, so that the beautiful goddess was ordered back to Mount Olympus. What remained was an empty pond, which promised beauty and eternal youth to every bather. Whoever drinks from the source will soon fall in love.
Vom kleinen Jachthafen Latsi sind es nur wenige Kilometer bis zu einer unscheinbaren Felsengrotte. Hier hat – so berichtet die Legende – Akamas, der Sohn des Theseus, die Liebesgöttin Aphrodite beim Baden überrascht. Schon war es um die beiden geschehen, doch eine mythologische Personifikation namens „Verleumdung“ verriet ihrem Ehemann Hephaistos den Seitensprung, sodass die schöne Göttin auf den Olymp beordert wurde. Zurück blieb ein leerer Teich, der jedem Badenden Schönheit und eine lange Jugend schenkt. Wer aus der Quelle trinkt, wird sich bald verlieben.
