Poreč Porec, Croatia ist das perfekte Touristenstädtchen: kompakt, malerisch, mit jeder Menge geschichtlichen Zeugnissen und einem Hinterland, das für seinen Wein, seinen Schinken, sein Olivenöl und seinen Käse bekannt ist. 11.000 Einwohner hat der Ort zu bieten und – je nach Saison – ein Vielfaches an Touristen. Immerhin wandelt man hier auf 2000 Jahren alten Straßen, denn schon die Römer wussten die Halbinsellage von Poreč zu schätzen. Das heutige Stadtbild spiegelt jedoch die fast 1000-jährige Präsenz der Venezianer wider.

Poreč Porec, Croatia is the perfect tourist town: compact, picturesque, with plenty of historical evidence and a hinterland known for its wine, ham, olive oil and cheese. The village has 11,000 inhabitants and - depending on the season - a multiple of tourists. After all, you walk on 2000-year-old streets here, because even the Romans appreciated the peninsular situation of Poreč. However, today's cityscape reflects the nearly 1000-year long presence of the Venetians.
