The beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik Dubrovnik, Kroatien on the Adriatic Sea. During the Middle Ages this maritime city-state (then called Ragusa) rivaled Venice for supremacy in the Adriatic. In 1979, the city became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
