Like a gnomon of a sundial the castle rock towers 100 meter above Ortahisar, the center of Anatolian fruit cultivation. Until far into the 20th century the rock inhabited by about 100 people, but now the rock is in danger of collapse.
Wie die Nadel einer Sonnenuhr überragt der 100 m hohe Burgfelsen von Ortahisar das gleichnamige Dorf, Zentrum des Obstanbaus in Anatolien. Bis weit ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein war der heute einsturzgefährdete Felsen von etwa 100 Menschen bewohnt.
