Ihlara Valley#

Ihlara canyon – located 60 km southwest of Göreme – probably cannot do the flattering epithet “Grand Canyon of Turkey” justice. But the 15 km canyon still makes for impressive scenery in this otherwise pain plateau.
Dem schmeichelhaften Beinamen „Grand Canyon der Türkei“ wird die Ilhara Schlucht 60 km südwestlich von Göreme nicht ganz gerecht. Trotzdem bildet der 15 km lange Canyon eine imposante Landschaftskulisse inmitten der flachen Hochebene.
