The beauty of the Turkish Riviera, the ancient Pamphylia, was such a jewel in the eyes of the Romans that Antonius thought it worth to be a gift for Cleopatra. Already hundreds of years earlier, the Greeks were also enthusiastic about this area. Selge, Aspendos and Side Side, Turkey , nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Manavgat district and the Köprülü Canyon National Park, were among their most important city foundations. In ancient times Side enjoyed the reputation of a prosperous trading port with a large slave market.

Side genoss in der Antike den Ruf eines wohlhabenden Handelshafen mit großem Sklavenmarkt.
