Due to its beauty, the old town of Antalya gets all the credit in literature and all the tourists in reality. A clock tower marks the entrance. It once belonged to the mighty city fortifications that sheltered the commercial city from attacks. Especially pirate raids gave the city a hard fight, because there was plenty to take home.
Die Altstadt Antalyas wird wegen ihrer Schönheit in der Literatur mit Lorbeeren und in der Realität mit Touristen überschüttet. Ein Uhrturm markiert den Eingang. Er gehörte einst zur mächtigen Stadtbefestigung, die die Handelsmetropole vor Angriffen schützte. Besonders Piratenüberfälle machten der Stadt zu schaffen, denn zu holen gab es reichlich.
