with its small villages and friendly people can not belie the widespread poverty. More than half of the population is younger than 25 years - without any future perspective. Who can, leaves the country. In many regions the unemployment rate is more than 80 percent. Officially, most of the inhabitants live on agriculture, but it is presumed that about half of the economic output of Tajikistan results from the drug trade on the border with Afghanistan. Besides, there are numerous Islamic cells in the country causing turmoil frequently.

Mehr als die Hälfte der Einwohner ist unter 25 Jahre alt – ohne jede Perspektive für die Zukunft. Wer kann, verlässt das Land. Die Arbeitslosenrate liegt in vielen Gebieten bei mehr als 80 Prozent. Offiziell leben die meisten Einwohner von der Landwirtschaft, doch vermutet man, dass etwa die Hälfte der Wirtschaftsleistung Tadschikistans durch den Rauschgifthandel an der Grenze zu Afghanistan zustande kommt. Dazu existieren viele islamistische Zellen im Land, die immer wieder für Unruhe sorgen.
