The precipitation of minerals such as quartz or calcite cements the sandstone layer to the rock and colours it. Iron oxides make for red and yellow tones, feldspars often for green tones. Gypsum leaves white traces and quartz crystals shine in all colours of the rainbow.
Das Ausfällen von Mineralien wie Quarz oder Calcit zementiert die Sandsteinschicht zum Felsen und färbt sie bunt. Eisenoxide sorgen für Rot- und Gelbtöne, Feldspäte oft für Grüntöne. Gips hinterlässt weiße Spuren und Quarzkristalle leuchten in allen möglichen Farben.
