Wenn nicht gerade Meetings stattfinden, darf der Besucher einen Blick in die Sitzungssäle werfen. Ein Wandgemälde, dass den Aufstieg des Phönix aus der Asche des 2. Weltkrieges zeigt, gemahnt die Verantwortlichen im Sitzungssaal des UN-Sicherheitsrates, dass es für eine Weltordnung keine andere Option als Frieden geben könne. Hier tagen die 15 Mitglieder des wichtigsten UN-Gremiums, darunter die fünf ständigen: USA, Russland, China, Frankreich und Großbritannien. Die restlichen 10 werden jeweils für eine Dauer von 2 Jahren von der UNO Vollversammlung gewählt.
When there are no meetings, the visitor is allowed to take a look into the chambers. A mural depicting the rise of the Phoenix from the ashes of World War II reminds the persons responsible in the UN Security Council Chamber that there can be no option other than peace for a world order. Here the 15 members of the most important UN body hold their meetings, including the five permanent ones: USA, Russia, China, France and Great Britain. The remaining 10 are elected by the UN General Assembly for a period of 2 years at a time.
