The copper mine Chuquicamata Chuquicamata, Calama, Chile is the reason for the existence of the village of Calama and offers 22.000 people a job. Meanwhile the "hole" is 850m deep and 4.3 times 3km big! After the processing much rubble remained which turned into a serious problem: eventually it was decided to abandon and burry the working class quarter. What will archeologists think in 5.000 years?

Das Kupferbergwerk Chuquicamata Chuquicamata, Calama, Chile ist der Existenzgrund für Calama und beschäftigt 22.000 Mitarbeiter. Das "Loch" ist inzwischen 850 m tief, und 4.3 mal 3 km groß! Der nach der Verarbeitung verbleibende Schutt war nicht mehr bewältigbar: schließlich wurde beschlossen, die Arbeitersiedlung aufzugeben und zu verschütten. Was sich da Archäologen einmal in 5.000 Jahren denken werden??
