Rabat#

Since 1912, in the beginning under French protectorate, Rabat Rabat, Morocco is the capital of the country. The well-kept 2 million metropolis played an important role as a trading centre already in Phoenician and Roman times, as the ruins of Cellah prove. In the 12th century it was briefly the residence of the Almohad Caliphate.

Seit dem Jahr 1912, anfangs noch unter französischem Protektorat, ist Rabat Rabat, Morocco Hauptstadt des Landes. Die gepflegte 2 Mio.-Metropole spielte schon in phönizischer und römischer Zeit eine wichtige Rolle als Handelszentrum, wie die Ruinen von Cellah beweisen. Im 12. Jahrhundert war sie kurzzeitig Residenz der Almohaden-Herrscher.
