Rule number 5 makes a pilgrimage to Mecca compulsory, if the believer can afford it healthwise and financially. In Morocco, a seven-times-repeated visit to the pilgrimage site of Moulay Idriss is regarded as a substitute. In addition to these five basic duties, there are numerous other rules such as the prohibition of drinking alcohol, eating pork, gambling and charging interest.
Regel Nummer 5 schreibt eine Pilgerfahrt nach Mekka vor, soferne sich der Gläubige eine solche gesundheitlich und finanziell leisten kann. In Marokko gilt ein siebenmaliger Besuch des Wallfahrtsortes Moulay Idriss als Ersatz dafür. Neben diesen fünf Grundpflichten existieren noch zahlreiche weitere Regeln wie das Verbot von Alkoholgenuss, Schweinefleischverzehr, Glücksspiel und das Nehmen von Zinsen.
