No other city embodies Ethiopia's national identity as much as Axum. Ruins tell of a time when Ethiopia was one of the four greatest empires of antiquity apart from Rome, China and Persia. The road from the Simien Mountains to this former centre of power leads along a winding mountain dirt road through a breathtaking landscape.
Keine andere Stadt verkörpert Äthiopiens nationale Identität in so hohem Maße wie Axum. Ruinen erzählen aus einer Zeit, in der Äthiopien neben Rom, China und Persien zu den vier größten Reichen der Antike zählte. Der Weg von den Simien Mountains zu diesem einstigen Machtzentrum führt entlang einer kurvigen Bergpiste durch eine atemberaubende Landschaft.
