Its founder, Confucius, acted as a teacher and counselor at the Chinese Court 2500 years ago, in a highly uncertain time. His goal was to find a way out of the social and political chaos of that time by returning to the five classical virtues. Confucius said that the internalization of humanity, justice, ethical behavior, benevolence and wisdom turn a person into a "noble". Only such persons of high moral integrity should enter the civil service. A good ruler has to provide for his people, protect it and always seek the confidence of his subjects.
Ihr Begründer, Konfuzius, wirkte vor 2500 Jahren als Lehrer und Berater an chinesischen Fürstenhöfen in einer höchst unsicheren Zeit. Sein Ziel war es, durch Rückbesinnung auf fünf klassische Tugenden einen Ausweg aus dem sozialen und politischen Chaos der damaligen Zeit zu finden. Konfuzius meinte, dass die Verinnerlichung von Menschlichkeit, Gerechtigkeit, ethischem Verhalten, Güte und Weisheit einen Menschen zum „Edlen“ machen. Nur solch moralisch integre Persönlichkeiten dürften das Amt eines Regierenden ausführen. Ein guter Herrscher müsse für sein Volk sorgen, es beschützen und stets um das Vertrauen seiner Untertanen bemüht sein.
