Donostia is the name for San Sebastian
Spain, San Sebastian
in Basque. Fantastically located, the 200,000-inhabitant metropolis snuggles into a semicircular bay. Often compared with Biarritz, San Sebastian also preserved a touch of nostalgia. Since in 1845 the royal court spent the summer holidays here for the first time, the commercial and fishing town developed into a highly fashionable seaside resort.

auf Baskisch. In Traumlage schmiegt sich die 200.000-Einwohner-Metropole in eine halbkreisförmige Bucht. Oft mit Biarritz verglichen, bewahrte sich auch San Sebastian einen Anflug von Nostalgie. Seit der Königshof 1845 hier erstmals seine Sommerferien verbrachte, stieg die Handels- und Fischereistadt zum mondänen Seebad auf.
