And that was about it. It was all downhill from there with Jerez. Several times captured by Portuguese troops, the population fell below 2000. Nevertheless, there was still enough money to gradually convert the numerous churches to Baroque style.
Doch das war es auch schon mit der Herrlichkeit. Ab nun ging es steil bergab mit Jerez. Mehrfach von portugiesischen Truppen erobert, sank die Einwohnerzahl unter 2000. Trotzdem war genug Geld vorhanden, die zahlreichen Kirchen nach und nach zu barockisieren.
