Under the reign of the two Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella Spain rose to world power - with all the disastrous consequences for the enslaved people in its colonies. The royal couple was characterized by a fanatical Christian faith, supported by the cruel instrument of inquisition. By today's standards the then royal government would be stigmatized as a terror regime.
Unter der Herrschaft der beiden katholischen Könige Ferdinand und Isabella stieg Spanien zur Weltmacht auf – mit all den katastrophalen Folgen für die kolonial versklavten Völker. Das Königspaar zeichnete sich durch einen fanatisch-christlichen Glauben aus, getragen vom grausamen Instrument der Inquisition. Nach heutigen Maßstäben würde man die damalige königliche Herrschaft wohl als Terrorregime brandmarken.
