One and a half kilometers separate the rich convent from the massive city gates of Burgos. In the sculpture gallery of the triumphal arch Emperor Charles V, flanked by Count Fernan Gonzalez and El Cid, who became a national hero of Spain as a tireless fighter against the Moors, are to be found.
Eineinhalb Kilometer trennen das reiche Kloster von den mächtigen Stadttoren von Burgos. In der Skulpturengalerie des Triumphtores findet sich Kaiser Karl der V, flankiert von Graf Fernan Gonzales und El Cid, der als unermüdlicher Kämpfer gegen die Mauren zum Nationalhelden Spaniens aufstieg.
