A few kilometers from the city centre, near the modern Plaça de Lesseps, Antonio Gaudí was to design a near-natural residence by order of his patron, the industrialist Eusebi Güell. With the outbreak of the First World War, however, the financial source dried up and Gaudí had to give up the project.
Ein paar Kilometer außerhalb des Stadtzentrums, in der Nähe der modernen Placa de Lesseps, sollte Antonio Gaudí im Auftrag seines Mäzens, des Industriellen Eusebi Güell, eine naturnahe Wohnsiedlung entwerfen. Mit Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkrieges versiegte jedoch die Geldquelle und Gaudí mußte das Projekt aufgeben.
