In 1851, the first international exhibition took place in London. Others followed in Paris and Vienna, until finally in 1888 it was Barcelona's turn. The place of the event was the Parc de la Ciutadella, where an oversized triumphal arch greeted the visitors.
1851 fand in London die erste Weltausstellung statt. Weitere folgten in Paris und Wien, bis 1888 schließlich Barcelona an der Reihe war. Ort der Leistungsschau war der Parc de Ciutadella, wo ein überdimensionaler Triumphbogen die Besucher damals begrüßte.
