Jaen – Saint Catherine's Castle#

The fortress sits on top of a hill overlooking the Jaen. Previously a fortress of Arabic origin, of which some remains still exist, the current construction is of Christian origin, built after the conquest of the city by Ferdinand III of Castile, called the Saint, in 1246.
Die Burg thront auf einem Hügel mit Blick auf Jaen. Früher eine Festung arabischen Ursprungs, von der noch einige Reste vorhanden sind, ist die aktuelle Form christlichen Ursprungs und wurde nach der Eroberung der Stadt durch Ferdinand III von Kastilien, genannt der Heilige, im Jahre 1246 erbaut.
