After an Arab interlude of 200 years, Christian Normans conquered the island. Since then, a statue of Paul the apostle stands in the centre of Rabat. The saint had started his missionary work in Malta as long ago as in the year 60 AC.
Nach einem 200-jährigen arabischen Intermezzo eroberten christliche Normannen die Insel. Im Zentrum Rabats steht seither eine Statue von Apostel Paulus. Der Heilige hatte bereits im Jahr 60 mit der Missionierung Maltas begonnen.
