According to tradition, the chevaliers were laid to rest under the cathedral's floor. Over 400 graveslabs form a grand marble carpet - almost a who's who of the European nobility. With the exception of two, all the Grand Masters of the Order are buried in the cathedral.
Nach alter Tradition fanden die Ordensritter ihre letzte Ruhestätte unter dem Boden der Kathedrale. Über 400 Grabplatten bilden einen grandiosen Marmorteppich – fast ein Who is who des europäischen Adels. Bis auf zwei Ausnahmen liegen in der Kathedrale auch alle Großmeister des Ordens begraben.
