Grandmaster's Palace#

In the course of the eighteenth century, the Grand Masters developed a feudal style of rule, modelled after Louis XIV. A whiff of it comes can be felt in the Grandmaster's Palace. To this day an hourly mounting of the guard takes place, since the palace is still in use - it is the seat of the Maltese president.
Im Verlauf des 18. Jahrhunderts entwickelten die Großmeister einen feudalen Herrschaftsstil nach dem Vorbild von Ludwig dem XIV. Einen Hauch davon erhascht man im Palast des Großmeisters. Bis heute findet stündlich eine Wachablöse statt, denn der Palast ist immer noch in Betrieb – als Sitz des maltesischen Präsidenten.
