Gozo's capital, like its counterpart in Malta, bears the name Rabat. In 1897 it was renamed Victoria on the occasion of the 60th throne anniversary of Queen Victoria. Now people return to the old name.
Gozos Hauptstadt trägt wie ihr Gegenpart auf Malta den Namen Rabat. 1897 wurde sie anlässlich des 60-jährigen Thronjubiläums der englischen Königin in Victoria umbenannt. Mittlerweile ist man zum alten Namen zurückgekehrt.
