Den Giebel krönt ein pinnacolo, eine Spitze in Form einer Kugel, einer Scheibe, eines Kegels oder eines Kreuzes. Über die Bedeutung der Formen wird viel gerätselt, doch ein Aspekt gilt als sicher. Der Pinnacolo war ein Statussymbol: je kunstvoller, umso wohlhabender die Bewohner!
The gable is crowned by a pinnacolo, a top in the shape of a globe, a disk, a cone or a cross. There is much puzzling about the meaning of these forms, but one aspect is certain. The Pinnacolo was a status symbol: the more artful, the wealthier the inhabitants!
