The Augustinian monastery Neustift and the picturesque old town of Brixen/Bressanone Brixen lead back into the lowlands of the Eisack Valley. Brixen holds the record: it is the oldest Tyrolean city, older than Innsbruck, Schwaz or Hall and since 990 it is a diocesan town.
