440 m über dem Meeresspiegel schmiegt sich das Bergdorf Vico del Gargano an die sanften Hänge des Gebirges. Hier spürt man noch etwas von der jahrhundertelangen Isolation des Städtchens. Überleben konnte man nur, weil rund um den Ort 50 Wasserquellen existieren, die einzigen in gesamten Gargano.
At 440 m above sea level, the mountain village of Vico del Gargano nestles on the gentle slopes of the mountains. Here you can still feel something of the century-long isolation of this small town. People could only survive here, because there are 50 sources of water around the village, the only ones all over Gargano.
