Am höchsten Punkt thront das normannische Kastell, das so oft umgebaut wurde, dass sich die ursprüngliche Anlage nicht mehr rekonstruieren lässt. Unter den vielen Baumeistern sticht Friedrich der II besonders hervor, der sich hier mit seiner Geliebten Bianca Lancia heimlich zu Schäferstündchen traf. Sein Thronfolger Manfred soll hier geboren worden sein, doch das behauptet man auch an vielen anderen Orten.
The highest point is the Norman castle, which has been rebuilt so often that the original structure can no longer be reconstructed. Frederick II stands out among the many builders, who secretly met here with his lover Bianca Lancia. His heir to the throne Manfred is said to have been born here, but this is also said in many other places.
