'Wine often has more character than the people who drink it.' The truthfulness of this wisdom can be verified in the area around Kaltern, for here lies South Tyrol's most famous wine-growing area. Not far away the Bletterbach Canyon attracts the hikers, while the castles of Sigmundskron, Hocheppan and Runkelstein lead deep into the medieval world.
„Wein hat oftmals mehr Charakter als die Menschen, die ihn trinken“. Den Wahrheitsgehalt dieser Weisheit kann man in der Gegend um Kaltern prüfen, denn hier liegt Südtirols bekanntestes Weinanbaugebiet. Nicht weit entfernt lockt die Bletterbachschlucht zu Wanderungen, während die Burgen von Sigmundskron, Hocheppan und Runkelstein tief in die Welt des Mittelalters entführen.
