Seit nunmehr 1300 Jahren erhebt sich das frühchristliche Gallarus Oratorium Gallarus Oratory, ireland aus der weiten Landschaft, eine der ältesten Kirchen unseres Planeten. Das ästhetisch fast modern wirkende Gebetshaus besitzt ein Kraggewölbe in Form eines umgekippten Boots. Das fugenlose Trockenmauerwerk ist trotz der tosenden Atlantikstürme bis heute wasserdicht geblieben.

For over 1300 years now, the early Christian Gallarus Oratory Gallarus Oratory, ireland rises above the vast landscape, one of the oldest churches on our planet. The almost modern-looking church has a corbel vault shaped like an overturned boat. The seamless dry masonry has remained watertight despite the roaring Atlantic storms.
