12000 Jahre hat die Natur gebraucht, um über dem Kalksteingrund in Boora Bog Boora Bog, Ireland im Herzen Irlands eine 8 m hohe Torfschicht aufzubauen. In nur 10 Jahren wurde sie vom Menschen abgebaut. Torf stellt die erste Stufe der Verkohlung von Pflanzenresten dar und eignet sich gut als Brennmaterial. Mittlerweile hat sich die Natur ihr Recht wieder zurückgeholt.

It took nature 12,000 years to build up an 8-m-high peat layer over the limestone rock in Boora Bog Boora Bog, Ireland in the heart of Ireland. In just 10 years, it was cut down by humans. Peat is the first phase of carbonization of plant remains and works well as a fuel. But nowadays nature has regained territory.
