Die Kathedrale birgt auch das Grabmal des wohl berühmtesten Mitarbeiters der Kirche, damals Dekan der theologischen Fakultät: Jonathan Swift. Der streitbare und äußerst unhöfliche Schriftsteller setzte sich mit 'Gullivers Reisen' ein literarisches Denkmal. In beißendem Spott und Hohn nahm er seine Landsleute und vor allem die Engländer aufs Korn – was ihm nicht nur Freunde bescherte. Seine Exzentrizität gipfelte in einer 1733 erschienenen, grotesken Abhandlung über Fäkalien mit dem vielversprechenden Titel: 'Menschlicher Stuhlgang aus botanischer Sicht'.
The cathedral also houses the sepulchral monument of the probably most popular contributor of the chuch, then dean of the theological faculty: Jonathan Swift. The strident and very impolite writer created a literary landmark with "Gulliver´s Travels". With salty derision and mockery he satirized his compatriots and especially the English - he didn´t only make friends with this. His eccentricity found its peak in a 1733 published, preposterous treatise about faeces with the promising title: 'Human ordure botanically considered'.
