Am Eingang des Boulevards blickt Daniel O´Connell gnädig auf sein Volk. Der irische Politiker hatte sich in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts für die Unabhängigkeit Irlands von Großbritannien und die Gleichbehandlung der Katholiken stark gemacht.
At the entrance of the boulevard Daniel O´Connell looks graciously down on his people. The Irish polititian campaigned for the Irish independence of Great Britain and the equal treatment of catholics in the first half of the 19th century.
