Obwohl die Landwirtschaft heute nur noch eine untergeordnete Rolle spielt, gibt es mehr Schafe auf der Insel als Einwohner. Sie gehören zu den Irland-Klischees wie grüne Wiesen, wilde Küsten und malerische Seen. Die Grafschaft Donegal vermittelt wie kaum eine andere Region ein Irland, wie man es sich in romantischer Verklärtheit vorstellt.
Although agriculture plays only a minor role today, there are more sheep on the island than people. They belong to the Irish clichés such as green meadows, wild coasts and picturesque lakes. The county of Donegal, like no other region, conveys an Ireland, as one romantically gloriefies.
