Die Grafschaft Donegal Glenveagh National Park,Ireland ist der abgelegendste Teil Irlands. Hier oben, so meinen die Einheimischen, sei alles ein bisschen anders. Das Klima zeigt sich noch rauer und feuchter. Für die Irländer ist das Wetter trotzdem in den meisten Fällen 'nice'. Sollte es einmal ganz fürchterlich stürmen, dann heißt es: 'The weather is not so bad'. Die Gegend wurde von der großen Hungersnot besonders hart getroffen. Viele wanderten aus. Zurück blieb eine herbe, weitgehend menschenleere Landschaft - uralte archäologische Zeugnisse wie der Grianan of Aileach beweisen jedoch, dass früher hier viel mehr Menschen wohnten.

The County of Donegal Glenveagh National Park,Ireland is the most remote part of Ireland. Up here, the locals say, everything is a bit different. The climate is even rougher and wetter. Nevertheless, for the Irish, the weather is still 'nice' in most cases. If it storms terribly, they say: 'The weather is not so bad'. The area was hit particularly hard by the famine. Many emigrated. What remained was a harsh, mostly deserted landscape - ancient archaeological evidence such as the Grianan of Aileach, however, prove that once there used to be many more people here.
