Das elisabethanische Fort aus dem frühen 17. Jahrhundert hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Lange diente es als Gefängnis, heute als Polizeiwache. Dass Cork immer wieder heftig zwischen Wikingern, Iren und Engländern umkämpft war und oft zerstört wurde, (B 514) sieht man der Stadt heute noch an.
The Elizabethan Fort of the early 17th century has had better times. For a long time, it served as a prison, today as a police station. The fact that Cork was always fiercely contested between Vikings, Irish and English and often destroyed, you can still see in the city today.
