An Kretas Südküste spürt man schon die Nähe Afrikas. Fast steppenartig muten die Berge an, nur der genügsame Olivenbaum trotzt den widrigen Bedingungen.
On Crete´s southern coast one feels the proximity of Africa. The mountains appear nearly steppe-like, only the frugal olive tree defies the adverse conditions.
