Bei näherem Hinsehen bleiben die paradiesischen Zustände jedoch nur für den bestehen, der laute Musik mag. Schon in den 1970er Jahren galt der Strand als Hochburg der Hippies und Freaks, später als Treff der Homosexuellen. Nacktbaden und freizügiges Liebesleben übten eine fast magnetische Wirkung aus. Zum Ruf der Insel hat dieser Strand maßgeblich beigetragen. Heute ist FKK eher die Ausnahme, Gays und Lesben sind in der Minderheit. Vorwiegend junges Publikum bestimmt das Strandleben. Bereits ab Mittag dröhnt ohrenbetäubende Musik aus den Lautsprechern der Tavernen und die ausgelassene Partystimmung dauert bis in die frühen Morgenstunden an.
On closer inspection, however, the paradisiacal conditions remain only for those who like loud music. Already in the 1970s, the beach was considered a haven of hippies and freaks, later as a meeting place of homosexuals. Nude bathing and revealing love life exerted an almost magnetic effect. The beach has contributed significantly to the reputation of the island. Today nude bathing is rather an exception, gays and lesbians are a minority. Predominantly young public determines the beach life. Already from noon deafening music roars from the loudspeakers of the taverns and the exuberant party atmosphere lasts until the early morning hours.
