One can hardly imagine nowadays that Karystos in the very south of the island was once a powerful city-state. If you want to take a break from everyday life in the Greek off-season, is in good hands here and on the surrounding beaches.
Dass Karistos ganz im Süden der Insel einst ein mächtiger Stadtstaat war, vermag man sich heute kaum noch vorzustellen. Wer außerhalb der griechischen Urlaubssaison die Seele so baumeln lassen will, dass sie gar nicht mehr zu baumeln aufhört, ist hier und an den umliegenden Stränden gut aufgehoben.
